New Gates, New Terminal Proposed for Oakland International
Anticipating increased demand for air travel in the Bay Area, Oakland International Airport officials are eyeing a huge expansion that would include the addition of new gates and even a new terminal.
“Oakland International Airport has begun the public process for examining the possibility of adding a new terminal at Oakland International Airport to build capacity for future demand,” said Robert Bernardo, a spokesperson for the airport.
Air travel through OAK had declined by 65% in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
