Edmonton, Canada-based general contractor, PCL Construction, is serving as GC for the renovation of the Los Angeles sports and concert venue. They will also handle renovations of LA Live's X-Box Plaza as well.
The biggest focus of the planned construction is to connect the Arena to Xbox plaza. So far, the high-end suites and Arena's Chairman's Club have been completed.
Wayne Melnyk who worked as general superintendent on construction of the Staples Center and is now project director for the renovations, pointed out that the Staples Center was a landmark project for PCL. “[The original project] really put us on the map in the city. Everybody knows Staples Center,” Melnyk said. It took PCL 18 months to build the AEG Staples center in 1999, according to Melnyk
Crypto.com Arena will mark the 19th collaboration between AEG and PCL.
